On January 31, Gree Electric issued an official statement to clarify that the company was concerned about the false news circulating on the Internet, such as "On January 28, Chairman Dong Mingzhu said at the Gree 2024 Global Dream Festival that an extra year-end bonus of 200 million yuan was actually sent to Gree mobile phones".
Gree Electric mentioned two points in the statement: First, in order to better adapt to the company’s work software, facilitate mobile office work and improve work efficiency, the company decided to provide each employee with free work mobile phones (including free communication packages), which will be distributed in batches around the Spring Festival.
