The 2024 National Coastal Rowing Beach Sprint Open opened in Linhai, Zhejiang Province.

　　BEIJING, Taizhou, May 28th (Fu Feiyang, Zhang Guohui) From 27th to 29th, the 2024 "Pearson Cup" National Coastal Rowing Beach Sprint Open (Linhai Station) started in Linhai City, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province. Nearly 100 rowers from 20 professional and mass teams from 12 provinces in China competed in the local Baisha Bay, showing their speed and passion.

　　This competition is sponsored by the Water Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration, China Rowing Association and Zhejiang Sports Bureau. There are two groups: professional group and mass group. The competition events are men’s single sculls (CM1x), women’s single sculls (CW1x) and mixed double sculls (CMix2x).

　　At the scene of the competition, with the referee’s order, the athletes rushed to the rowing boat on the beach at the fastest speed, and the rowing boat surfed with the help of the crew. Paddle insertion, paddle pulling, paddle discharging and paddle pushing … The athletes are vigorous in posture and move in one go.

　　"I’ve been rowing for half a year, and it’s my first time to participate in the coastal rowing competition. I’m very excited to participate in this national race at home. I hope that through this competition, my ability can be improved, and then I will March into the professional group. " Fang Jiaxin, an athlete of Taizhou Volkswagen Group, said.

　　Coastal rowing is a new project derived from the ancient still water rowing in recent years. Because of its fashion sense, interest, antagonism and appreciation, and easy popularization, it quickly gained the love of young people all over the world once it was launched.

　　At the end of 2023, the project successfully became the official event of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, which was the first time for it to join the Olympic Games. In order to reserve more outstanding talents, in 2024, China Rowing Association will set up open, championship and championship competitions in the whole country. There are 5 stops in the open, with Linhai as the second stop.
